Make a foundation chain of a multiple of 6, plus 4 stitches.

Make a turning chain of 3 stitches and work 1 double crochet into the 4th chain from your hook.

Continue working in double crochet until the end of your row.

Make a turning chain of 2 stitches, and turn your work.

Skip the first double crochet, and work three double crochet into the front posts.

Next, work 3 double crochets through the back post.

Repeat these 2 steps to end of row, working 3 double crochet into the front posts and 3 double crochet into the back posts.

Then work 1 double crochet into the top of the turning chain from the row below.

For the next row it will be the same process.

For the next row it will be the same process but start off slightly differently. Make a turning chain of 2 stitches and turn your work.

Work 3 double crochet stitches into the back post first.

Now work 3 double crochets into the front posts.

Repeat this process to end of row.

For the next row it will be the same process, starting with 3 double crochet in the back post.

Carry on repeating these 4 rows until you reach your desired size.
