This technique can be used to join in a new colour, or a ball of the same colour.

To work the stitch before you add in the new ball, insert your hook into the stitch and pull through a loop, but don’t complete the final yarn wrap of the stitch.

Now create a loop near the end of the new ball of yarn and pull it through the two loops on your hook to complete the stitch, leaving a long tail to sew in later.

Work your next stitch as normal.
