Cut your yarn to the desired length, then fold it in half once, then fold it in half again, so you have the first fold and 2 ends at the bottom of your folded piece.

Thread something to anchor your piece under the folds at the top of your piece.

Arrange the yarn so the two central strands are the folded piece, these two strands are going to be labelled 1 and 2. An the two ends are either side.

Take the strand on the left and pass it over strand 1 and under strand 2.

Take the strands on the right and pass it over strand 2 and under strand 1.

Pull both ends gently to tighten. The strands have now changed sides.

Repeat steps 4 to 6 until your braid is the desired length.
